We are seeking to appoint an excellent Pastoral Lead to be a part of our dedicated and caring team. Under the direction and guidance of the SENDCo and Senior Leadership Team, they will effectively manage all aspects of the pastoral care process; arrange meetings with families and agencies; produce accurate papers after; provide support for vulnerable children within the school in order to ensure safety and break down barriers to learning. They need to communicate effectively with all appropriate staff to ensure all are aware of vulnerable children’s needs. This will involve some midday supervision. Post Title:  1 to 1 Teaching Assistants

Salary: Grade 5 (Point 11 to 14) depending upon experience.

 Post 1 – This post is offered with an annual salary of £17,301 to £18,160 depending on experience, on a temporary basis.

Post 2 - This post is offered with an annual salary of £11,795 to £12,381 depending on experience, on a temporary basis.

Hours:

Post 1 – This is a part-time post for 20 + 7.5 hours per week (8:45 -12:15 each morning and 1:15 – 3:15 each afternoon.) 

Post 2 – This is a part-time post for 18.75 hours per week (8:45 -12:30 each morning).

Contract Type: Both posts are temporary, linked to children with EHCPs.

1:1 Teaching Assistants

We are seeking capable and enthusiastic teaching assistants to support children with social, emotional and mental health needs/ cognition and learning needs.  

The ideal candidate would be someone who will be able to:

  • be genuinely committed to developing caring and trusting relationships and supporting pupils with specific needs in accessing their education;

  • motivate and encourage the pupil;

  • be calm patient and adaptable;

  • work in class to support teaching and learning;

  • implement intervention programmes;

  • assist with providing verbal/ written feedback as appropriate;

  • has good communication skills;

  • be able to support the Christian ethos of the school.

  • Working with parents to engage them in their children’s learning and school life through clubs, workshops, activity groups in the community, weekly class meetings and Parents fund-raising groups.

  • Working with the pupils to support them to be ready to learn, have the correct uniform and equipment, and be able to come to school feeling prepared.

  •  Support pupils while in school – especially persistent absentees who meet regularly throughout the week for a catch-up session.

  • To work closely with local community to engage them in school life and build community links for pupils and families – scrap store, library, Friendship Café, Early Help groups and services.

  • To make links with Adult Education and other groups, and to organise and run these sessions with other professionals.

  •  To be available throughout the day to meet with parents and be a familiar point of contact for parents many of whom are EAL and /or are unfamiliar with the English school system.

  •  To be a link for transition from Y2 to Y3 and from Y6 to Y7 – completing form, supporting parents to find out options for secondary education.

  • To be a consistent link across the two schools.
